P. 16
Dear Liam
I have been sitting with pen beside me, just thinking of all
that is lost. There are no words that quite describe the
depth of our pain to make this short, simple, and plain.
I think of your parents and the pain, rage, love, and
despair they must be feeling for the life now that is gone.
You enriched us, improved us, and showed us the wonder
of you, bringing joy and beautiful memories to our lives.
I think of your sister and how you should be right there
beside her. Through life, to share, reminisce and
complain.
It saddens me that you will miss out on all
the joys, scrapes and tears that will be
part of Olivia's life. You will not be
there to cheer her on and see
the woman she will become.
A distant memory of an
uncle that crawled on the
oor, put on costumes,
acted the fool to illicit a
laugh.
For the moment, and
please forgive us, we
are nding it hard to
look past the ending of
your part in our lives.
The lost memories that
should still have been,
now ashes blown by
the wind.
We will miss you being
here beside us.
Uncle Stu
P.S. please do not take
up the bag pipes
again wherever you
are. I quite deliberately
worked at missing out
on that this time around.
